Card Types and Information

New Zealand Security Cards can offer various types of cards with different capabilities. We are more than happy to help you find the right card type for your organisation.

Plain and Coloured Cards

This is a plain white PVC card, with no extra capabilites. Suitable for all types of cards, including membership cards, or a simple identification card.

We have available several different coloured PVC cards, which are great for adding some flair to your cards. These are great for membership and loyalty cards.

Metallic Cards

Gold, Silver, Copper metallic cards are available, giving your cards that extra sparkle! Great for loyalty cards, especially when printing colour, as they create a fantastic effect from under the print.

Magnetic Stripe Cards

This is a type of card which is capable of storing data, for example username or ID Number. This will provide added security as this can be used to control and log access to your organisation's facilities such as photocopiers.

Signature Stripe

Add a signature stripe to your card to increase security for your card holder. This will validate the user's identity upon presentation of the card, similar to bank and credit card security.

Proximity, Mifare Cards

An integrated chip can provide secure storage of identity information. RFID stands for Radio Frequency Identification. It is an automatic identification technology to identify objects by using invisible radio waves. Instead of optically scanning bar codes on a label, RFID uses radio waves to capture data from tags. One of key characteristics of RFID is that it does not require the tag to be seen to read its stored data. This means that a tag can be placed either inside or outside. To accomplish this, two components are essential, reader and tag. A transponder has a microchip that contains information uniquely identified itself, such as a serial number. A reader sends out a radio signal that wakes a tag from its dormant state. The transponder then responds with a coded radio signal to uniquely identify itself. The reader converts the radio waves returned from the tag into a form that can be passed on to computer that can further utilize the information.
